Wednesday Bible Study Opportunities
Lord of All Things - facilitated by Dr. Joseph M. Smith - “Lord of All Things” continues this year its careful work through the Bible, ancient history, contemporary issues, and the dynamics of faith. How timely, in this election season, that we will be looking at issues about leadership and national life as we examine the period of the Judges in ancient Israel! Does it matter how a leader is chosen? Does his character count? How can we sense when God has anointed someone for greatness? Join us on Wednesday nights for this exciting exploration!
Bible Study:The Book of Acts
The Wednesday Night Disciple Bible Study Group, facilitated by Pastor Hawthorne, will be studying a book by N. T. Wright entitled “Acts for Everyone.” Dr. Wright says, “The book of Acts is full of the energy and excitement of the early Christians as they found God doing new things all over the place and learned to take the good news of Jesus around the world. It is also full of the puzzles and problems that churches faced then, and face today — crises over leadership, money, ethnic divisions, theology and ethics, not to mention serious clashes with political and religious authorities. There isn’t a dull page in Acts.” The Disciple Bible Study Group is will meet September 17 following the fellowship dinner. Participants are invited to read Acts chapter 7 in preparation for the first session.
